Most fashion magazines concentrate on trends for women and all the choices available to them, from fashion to beauty, and always giving us tips along the way. What we rarely see, however, is where the men come into play. Of late, we've seen a shift as more publications are focusing and directing small sections within their plethora of pages to the metrosexuals, and have even gone as far as getting the point of view from male columnists and writers. In a mostly female-dominated fashion industry, let's see if we can also give a hand to our male counterparts.

This spring we want our men to turn heads too. How do they do that? This is how: wearing bold prints and colours are the obvious fashionable choices of the season. But as the old adage dictates; go BIG or go home. So PLAID IT!

The runways of New York Fashion Week are always a great place to spot the next big trends of the season, especially when it comes to accessories. This season the consensus is that earrings are back...in time, that is. The earrings pictured above from Prada and Oscar de la Renta are great examples of how designers are reviving the romantic and whimsical styles of the past.

The above pieces are comparable to the designs of the runway, and are sure to bring the same level of sophistcation and femininity to any ensemble. The earrings on the left are purple resin cabochons with crystal detailing from the Noisy Butterfly collection and retail at our boutique for $26.50. The earrings on the right are from the Nostalgia collection and are only $20.00. This line boasts affordable fresh water pearls sewn unto doily attachments that echo the lace trend we will also see in this upcoming Spring/Summer Season.

Amethyst Month

This stone belongs to the family of quartz crystals. It has always been a beautiful and popular choice for various uses since ancient times. The Greeks and medieval European soldiers believed it had protective and healing powers, but these days it's more commonly used for its power to attract attention. Whether amethyst is your birthstone or not, jewelry made from this stone makes a great focal point for any outfit.
